Destin's Own Heritage

Tuesday, December 28, 2010

On your next trip to Destin you've got to coordinate your schedule to see local band Heritage. They are an absolute blast to watch and their music is packed with talent and a happy reggae feel.

About 20 of my friends and I continually see their shows and we love to dance in the friendly and easy-going atmosphere they inspire. They play a blend of reggae standards like Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry to many original and 'get you movin' songs like Natural High. My two favorite things are their version of Bill Withers Ain't No Sunshine and then their drum circle. Each member gets on some bongos and you feel like you are in the middle of an African tribal dance -- it's so fun!

If you are interested in seeing them you better make it soon though because they are gaining in popularity so quickly that they'll be leaving us to tour the southeast. We'll be sad when they go but it's great that they can spread their LOVE (Living One Vibrational Energy) to more towns like Destin.
