5 Fall Favorite Vacation Areas in the US

Favorite Fall Vacation Spots

Need a pre-holiday getaway? Fall is a time when kids are back in school, parents are back at work and the holidays are right around the corner. Which means lower prices and fewer crowds at many popular vacation destinations! Not to mention a break from holiday planning is desperately needed. Here’s 5 of our favorite fall vacation spots in the US.

San Diego, California

A fall vacation in San Diego is a great choice for the outdoor enthusiast. Since average temperatures are in the upper 70s you can spend most of your time outside. Stroll through the extensive Balboa Park or head north to hike Torrey Pines. If you are traveling with kids a visit to the San Diego Zoo is a must! You can also take a short drive to Newport Beach where you can visit Balboa Fun Zone and Disney Land.

Bald Head Island, North Carolina

This quiet island with 14 miles of pristine beaches and acclaimed seaside golf course becomes basically deserted come fall. Stress will become a thing of the past when you board the ferry for a 20 minute ride to a place where no cars are allowed, the beach is at your fingertips and comfortable Bald Head Island cottages boast wrap around porches with amazing views of the Atlantic.

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Fall in Pigeon Forge is the most beautiful time of year. With all the leaves changing color along with the crisp cool air, most would agree there is no better time to visit. Staying in an authentic yet luxurious cabin creates an amazing Smoky Mountain experience. Hike through the mountains, picnic in the park, then head back to your Smoky Mountain Cabin for a relaxing time in the hot tub with breathtaking views of the mountains. It doesn’t get more stress-free than this.

Emerald Coast of Florida

The best time to visit these white sand beaches are in the fall. The temperatures are in the high 70s and the emerald green ocean is refreshing. The crowds are gone, the traffic is light and rental prices are cut in half. The Emerald Coast of Florida is full of beach towns and you can have your pick of places during fall. Choose a 30a Vacation Rental steps from the beach and outdoor concerts or a Miramar Beach Condo within walking distance to the outlet mall perfect for holiday shopping. A quiet Inn on the beaches of Destin or a beachfront unit close to the exciting happenings on the harbor. Perhaps a Pensacola Beach High Rise with plenty of shops or nestled in a Perdido Key Cottage where all you need is a beach chair and a good book. The blue skies the limit on the Emerald Coast during fall!

Anna Maria Island, Florida

Anna Maria Island is a great place to visit during fall because of its mild temperatures. The more south you travel the warmer it stays which is ideal for beach lovers. This quaint Barrier Island is nestled in the Gulf of Mexico boasting turquoise waters and white sandy beaches. Known for its “old” Florida charm, Anna Maria Island is an ideal spot to relax and unwind. There are no high rise condos or fast food restaurants. Just quaint cottages along with fresh local fare inviting you to slow down and enjoy the vibe.
