5 of Our Favorite Family Destinations for Spring Break
Families from all over the United states travel to Destin, Florida for the spring break of their dreams. Here at Destin Fun, we consider ourselves somewhat of experts on the subject. After all, vacation is our business and family’s our passion. So where do you spring break when your home is everyone else’s playground? Here are a few of our favorites!
Bald Head Island, North Carolina
Reason number 1 … NO CARS!!! Come spring break, Destin locals deal with traffic every day. Getting away to an island that doesn’t allow cars is pretty much a dream come true. Add history, such as climbing Old Baldy Lighthouse, hiking through Maritime Forest, complete with wildlife sightings and its own unique beaches to make this place a favorite spring break get-away.
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
We spend our life at the beach, which don’t get me wrong, is amazing. However, vacationing in the mountains can be incredible too! A cabin overlooking the mountains is quite peaceful. A big cabin that can sleep several of your family members under one roof, can create a bonding experience full of family fun. A place where you can hike and enjoy different scenery and a slower pace of life, now that’s what I call a get-away!
New York City
From the beach to a city that doesn’t sleep, that’s what makes New York one of our favorite vacation getaways. Visit the museum, climb the statue of liberty, hang out at a speak easy, take in a Broadway show and experience a night life like no other. Sometimes a drastic change of scenery is just what you need for the spring break of your dreams!
Perdido Key
If you can’t travel far but would like to get out of town and still enjoy incredible beaches than Perdido Key is your place. A smaller and quieter feel with the same amazing white sand and emerald green waters that have spoiled us. The best part is it’s convenient enough for a short drive yet far enough to feel like you have gotten out of town.
Destin, Florida Stay-cation
Let’s face it! You live where people vacation so take advantage of it with a stay-cation. Benefits: Costs you nothing in rentals. Negatives: You must be strong enough to really treat it like a vacation and not give in to “an emergency at the office”. Our suggestion: Visit a beach you wouldn’t normally visit like Alys Beach, Grayton, or Seaside. You might even book a 30a vacation rental and live the 30a lifestyle for the weekend.
