5 Reasons to Spend the Holidays in Destin

It’s not too late to book your winter vacation to the beach! Thanksgiving is two weeks away. Christmas is six weeks away. As if you didn’t need MORE reasons to come to the Gulf Coast, we thought we would make a list of why we think you should spend your holidays here in Destin. Your family will thank you.
      1.   Warm Weather
This week in Destin, Florida the weather has been sunny and warm. Sure, temperatures will cool off soon but it’s 80 outside right now and unless you’re south of us, it’s probably pretty chilly where you are. We still get to enjoy relaxing at the beach while it’s technically WINTER. It’s also cool enough at night to have a nice bonfire.
      2.   The View
Along those same lines, we have miles of unparalleled stunning scenery. There are lots of beautiful areas around the world you can vacation but the Emerald Coast is one of a kind. Clear blue-green water that washes up to soft sugar white sand is the ideal setting to catch up with family. It also makes a perfect backdrop for photos!
      3.   Vacation Rental Perks
One of the best things about traveling out of town is that you just show up to a clean, organized home. You don’t have to worry about preparing weeks in advance at your own house for all the relatives coming to town. Browse through Destin vacation rentals and find the perfect fit for you. Choose the amount of bedrooms you need and maybe even add some extras like a hot tub, game room, or fireplace. Then when it’s time to leave, you already paid a cleaning fee so no worries about getting it back to spotless. You can travel back home to your own place, clean and intact, just like you left it.
      4.   Shopping
There is still time to do Christmas shopping and the Destin area has some of the best shops around. Silver Sands Premium Outlets have 110 designer and name brand stores with savings up to 65% off original price. Destin Commons has over 70 stores and restaurants including some unique boutiques to find that one-of-a-kind gift for someone special. Both malls have extended hours for Black Friday or you might just wait until after Christmas to spend all that money you were gifted.
      5.   Restaurants
After making that big Thanksgiving meal, you might be burnt out on cooking. The Gulf Coast offers plenty of dining options to suit every palate. Fresh seafood can be found at Harbor Docks, Pompano Joe’s, Jackacuda’s, O’Quigleys Seafood Steamer, and many more spots. There’s also fine dining at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Flemings, Mitchell’s Fish Market, and Marina Café. Then you can just sit back while someone else does the cooking and cleanup so you can enjoy more family time.

Wherever you decide to spend your holiday season, enjoy every moment with your family and friends. Take time to relax and let the memories soak in. The Emerald Coast can help make those warm, beachy memories.
