5 Reasons You Should Spend This Winter in Destin
We are lucky to live in one of the top vacation destinations in the country. One of the best things about Destin, Florida is that it’s gorgeous year-round. We don’t need to give you more incentive to come visit but here are some reminders as to why it’s a great place to spend your winter vacation.
It’s hard to keep up with the weather these days but according to our newsfeed, it’s already snowing in some places north of us! We can guarantee you won’t have any chances for sledding or snowmen in Destin but that means no bundling up in layers and boots. Most winter days are a bit chilly in the mornings and warm in the sunny afternoons. This doesn’t mean you won’t get to enjoy the typical winter activities, though. Baytowne Wharf opens an ice skating rink every year for families to enjoy.
Don’t expect to be bored this winter season. The Emerald Coast has fun events all year and this winter season is no exception. The Blues, Brews, and BBQ Festival will be November 9th where guests can enjoy the best barbecue in town by local chefs. That same day, Wine World will present Destin Crafted, a Beer & Bourbon Festival at Henderson Beach Resort & Spa. The Annual Holiday on the Harbor Destin Lighted Boat Parade will take place on the Harbor December 8th. Harbor visitors can enjoy festive boats decorated with holiday lights from Boshamps to the Destin Bridge. The parade will conclude with a fireworks display.
Since the weather will still be nice, you can still have those relaxing beach days! Grab a hoodie for the evenings and spread out a blanket to watch the sunset. You can also get a permit to have a beach bonfire, one of our favorite seasonal things to do. Beaches are less crowded in the colder months so you have more room with your friends to play frisbee, volleyball, or fly a kite.
The key to the best Destin vacation is having an ideal vacation rental. Choose from luxury homes on the beach, near the beach, or beach condos with tons of amenities. Plan to stay with friends and get a place with several bedrooms. Or rent a condo with private balconies to watch the sunset and listen to the waves crash. Select condos offer great amenities such as tennis courts, hot tubs, fitness centers, and theater rooms.
Somehow, the year has rushed to its end and the last 90 days are among us. What better way to prepare for the new year than to be invigorated at the beach? Take the year end to relax and reset.
