5 Reasons You Will Love Maple Street Biscuit Company
One of the best things we like to see in Destin, Florida is another delicious restaurant opening! If you’ve been by the Market Shops on Highway 98, you might have noticed some new places opening and Maple Street Biscuit Company is setting up as we speak! While this may be new to our town, the community store has 29 restaurants in the country including Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Gainesville, Florida. We stopped by to meet the owners and quickly found out it will be one of our new favorite spots. Here are 5 reasons you’re going to love it too.
The Comfort Food – In our area, it’s easy to find an over the top fancy restaurant with a menu of words we’ve never heard of. But sometimes you just really want comfort food. Maple Street Biscuit Company has delicious flaky biscuits that come with a wide variety of dishes including all-natural fried chicken, pecan wood smoked bacon, and Bissell Family Farm real maple syrup. Besides their popular biscuits, they also serve waffles, oatmeal and grits, and you can even create your own salad.
The Extras – Once you try their house-made butter and jams, you’ll have to make it a regular stop for a box of biscuits and each of their amazing sides. Apple butter is made with Gala apples that they bake themselves with savory spices. Pepper jelly is made with fresh peppers and the perfect mix of sweet and heat. The B2 jam is some of the best jam in town made in house with fresh blueberries and blackberries. The Bissell Family Farm maple syrup is only made in small batches in Rock Creek, Ohio and lucky for us, they serve it here!
The Coffee – Fresh roasted coffee is at the top of our list every day. You can grab your own beans to make coffee at home or choose from ten different options on the menu including a tasty latte with maple vanilla syrup. If you don’t want coffee but want to warm up, you can try a hot chocolate with house-made chocolate ganache or a chai latte.
The Location – We really couldn’t think of a better location then nestled right in the charming Market Shops off Highway 98. The restaurant faces the road and is just past the Outlet Mall going east. Stop and get brunch before shopping or pick up biscuits and coffee on your way back home. The Market Shops even have more boutiques throughout the shopping center where you can pick up goodies for yourself or friends.
The Goods – Remember your new favorite biscuit shop with a cozy Maple Street t-shirt, a Miramar Beach souvenir coffee mug, or bring home a bag of Red Leaf fresh roasted coffee beans. Check out the shelf near the register and pick out your own.
The grand opening for Maple Street Biscuits will be October 2nd. If you make it for opening day, the first 30 guests will receive prizes including merchandise, meals or unlimited coffee for a month. Add it to your itinerary on your Destin vacation and we promise you will not be disappointed!
