5 Things You Can’t Miss in Destin This Fall

Every season on the Gulf Coast is amazing and brings its own excitement. The Fall season is coming up and the weather cooling down reminds us fun Destin, Florida festivals will be lined up. From great food and craft beer to unique art and live music, this year the big events will not disappoint.

The Destin Seafood Festival will come to the Harbor for its 39th year during October 6th-8th. Each Fall, thousands come to the annual festival to enjoy fresh seafood from local restaurants as well as live musical performances each day. Destin is known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village” and its fresh seafood dishes are a major attraction to the coastal town. You can have your choice of several options by top restaurants near the Harbor. There will also be 3 separate Kids Zones with a petting zoo, rock climbing wall, zip line, and more! 

One of the top beer festivals of Northwest Florida will be in Baytowne Wharf October 13th and 14th. The annual festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary with over 200 domestic and international craft beers for sampling. Friday will be “Beer From Around Here” with featured local beer tastings from 6-8pm. Saturday, there will be a VIP Event at Marlin Grill from 1-2pm and the main tasting from 2-6pm. There will also be a selection of food available as well as live music to be enjoyed. 

During October 28th and 29th, artists and art lovers can be found at Mattie Kelly Art Foundation’s Festival of the Arts. Over 100 juried artists from several states will have their original works on display to admire or purchase with cash prizes to be given. A section for kids to unleash their creativity will be onsite as well as great local food and live music. 

The annual Seeing Red Wine Festival will be held November 9th-12th in Seaside. This popular event sells out fast and will include wine tastings, winemaker dinners, and a Sunday brunch at Great Southern Cafe. This is a high end culinary and wine event which Fodor’s Travel has named one of the “Top 10 Can’t Miss Fall Wine Festivals”.

Each Thursday evening this Fall, enjoy live music at the Mattie Kelly’s Village Green. The Fall Concerts in the Village will take place each week at 7pm. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy performances under the stars. Among the featured artists are Heritage, Déjà vu, and Swingtown – a Steve Miller Tribute Band.
