Alaqua Hosts Annual Howloween Pet Parade

Howloween

On October 23rd from 4pm-6pm, Alaqua Animal Refuge is carrying on their 30A tradition with an annual Howloween Pet Parade. Bring your family pups to Fonville Park and enjoy an afternoon of fun while benefiting our favorite shelter. A prize will go to the “Best Owner-Dog Duo” and a giant pumpkin will be dropped with treats for the kids. Fonville Park is located in Alys Beach between Seagrove Beach and Rosemary.

Alaqua is an independent, nonprofit organization located in Freeport, FL on a 10 acre farm. Since opening in 2007, the animal refuge has helped find homes for over 11,000 animals. Up to 100 animals per month are adopted into new forever homes from Alaqua. The animal shelter was recently voted Emerald Coast Magazine's "Best Non-Profit on the Emerald Coast" and the Visit South Walton's Perfect in South Walton Awards "Grand Champion for Community Responsible Business".

The closest animal shelters to Destin, Florida are Alaqua and PAWS, located in Fort Walton Beach. Both facilities accept donations, volunteers, and foster care for a variety of animals to help protect abandoned pets.
