Beach Restoration Project Timetable
Beach Restoration Project Timetable
The Western Walton County Beach Restoration Project is continuing through the mobilization process. Numerous pieces of equipment and onshore pipe have been delivered and are being moved into the Sandestin area. Unfortunately, weather has impacted the delivery date of the offshore submerged pipeline for more than a week. The tugboat with the pipeline attempted to leave Tampa two times last week, but due to rough seas had to return to port. The tugboat left Tampa on Sunday and is expected to be in the area on Tuesday or Wednesday.
The assembly and installation of the offshore pipeline is expected to occur upon arrival; however, the installation could be impacted by rough seas. The Liberty Island dredge is also in-route to the project area. The dredge completed the Broward County project last week, but stayed in port due to the rough seas that impacted the delivery of the submerged pipeline.
The expectation is that construction will be underway late this week if the weather is suitable for pipeline installation. The following outlines activities that should be occurring in the next three weeks.
Week of February 13th
Construction is expected to continue eastward within the vicinity of the Finz Restaurant, Sandestin Hilton Beach, Golf Resort & Spa and Tops'L Beach and Racquet Resort
Week of February 20th

Week of February 27th
