Florida Hiking Trails Month

February has brought sunny days and ideal temperatures making it the best time to go hiking in Florida. You might not think of hiking trails when you think of Destin but there are some trails nearby to satisfy your outdoor interests. From hiking to biking to horseback riding, there are a variety of trails in South Walton ranging from an easy 1 mile path to difficult 5 mile paths. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is a local favorite park with over 3 miles of secluded beaches, three coastal dune lakes, and trails for biking or hiking. Point Washington State Forest features a trail system with 11 miles for hiking or biking. Grayton Beach State Park has a couple easy to moderate trails winding through the coastal forest. These are just a few of the local parks but there are plenty of places along South Walton and Scenic Highway 30-A for walking, jogging, and biking. So pick out a trail and take advantage of the nice weather!
