Get Your Sea Legs at Old Bay Steamer

If you are looking for amazing seafood you have to stop by Old Bay Steamer on Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach. This no-frills restaurant attracts locals and tourist alike. In fact, I’ve never been there when there was not a crowd. With plenty of seating and an efficient staff the wait is never long and the experience always enjoyable.

The name says it all. A bucket full of delicious steamed seafood including Crab Legs, King Crab Legs, Shrimp, Mussels, and Clams; along with their side-kicks, steamed potatoes, corn, and a fresh family-style salad for the table to enjoy. Does it sound too healthy to be tasty? Perhaps the warm, melted butter served as dipping sauce will change your mind. The menu includes ribs, steak, and pasta for the land lovers. I’ve never made it to desert but I’ve heard they make an awesome Key Lime Pie as well.

Since you expect to make a mess while breaking into your steamed seafood you’re equipped with a roll of paper towels and a bowl of warm lemon water to dip your hands into. Old Bay Steamer is a great place for kids. Finally kids can consume something other than fried chicken fingers and grilled cheese sandwiches. This is all at a reasonable price, especially for seafood.

Next time you’re vacationing on the Island or in Destin, you must try Old Bay Steamer. They are worth the drive!
