Our Favorite Spring Festivals Along the Emerald Coast
The first day of spring is finally here and the sky could not be any bluer. The sun is shining, and the beaches are full of smiles. Spring is one of our favorite times of year along the Emerald Coast of Florida. If you’re not spending the day at the beach, make sure to pop in at one of our favorite spring festivals!
The Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf is a must when visiting
the beautiful beaches of Miramar
Beach. The Grand Tasting features over 500 domestic and international
wines. Talk to vineyard owners and wine makers as you taste some of their best
blends. Our favorite Chefs of the Emerald Coast will be pairing and serving
delicious bit sized appetizers. Enjoy four days of wine events on April 11th
through the 14th.
The South
Walton Food & Wine Festival takes place on April 25th and
runs through April 28th. This festival is a local favorite featuring
over 800 of the best wines in the world! Meet celebrity wine makers and master
distillers serving their fine wine and spirits from around the globe. Take a
stroll down Spirits Row and Champagne Lane while enjoying live entertainment
throughout the weekend.
Far from a wine festival, the Emerald Coast of Florida lets its hair down to bring you the Interstate Mullet Toss and Gulf Coast’s Greatest Beach Party! This legendary beach party takes place in Perdido Key on April 26th and runs through the 28th. Participants can enjoy a beach party and mullet
toss over the state line between Florida and Alabama.
If you have little ones in tote, they will love the Little
Pirates Parade on the Destin
harbor. On April 6th, tour the William Augustus Bowles Pirate Museum and the Billy Bowlegs Pirate ship. The kids will love getting their face painted and picture taken at the pirate photo booth. The pirate’s parade and costume contest are sure to be fun for the whole family!
Destin Commons will throw its first Mac & Cheese Festival on May 19th. This trendy, outdoor shopping and dining establishment was voted “Best Place to be Seen” by VIP magazine. Local restaurants will be competing for the best mac in town. Come out, sample everything, cast your vote and “be seen” tasting delicious mac & cheese on the beautiful beaches of Destin, Florida!
