Seeing Double on the Emerald Coast

The Emerald Coast continues to appease our appetites with incredible restaurants to choose from any time of the day. In recent years, the options seem to have doubled with new places springing up all over Destin, Florida. We were so happy to welcome new additions like Maple Street Bakery and Clean Juice over the past year. We’re even happier to find out that there will soon be additional locations to a few of our favorite restaurants. We’ve got the scoop!

First Watch is nestled in the Publix and Old Navy shopping center right next to the Destin Commons. Their breakfast and lunch menu boasts fresh ingredients with everything to traditional favorites to protein-packed quinoa bowls. Fill up on eggs and bacon made your way and add a fresh juice from the juice bar. Our go-to is the Power Breakfast Quinoa Bowl with a Kale Tonic Juice. The new First Watch location will be at the corner of Highway 98 and West Hewett Road in Santa Rosa Beach. Construction on the new site will begin this summer.

2 Birds Coffee + Café is a locally owned café that opened on Seascape Drive last year. Their Fancy Toast options had the whole town talking and it quickly became a popular spot. They also offer fresh pastries, breakfast bowls, sandwiches, coffee and wine. We love the retro atmosphere and can’t get enough of the Avocado Toast. 2 Birds Café will open a new location in WaterSound this summer, taking over the former Watersound Café.

Black Bear Bread Company has been a hot spot in Grayton Beach since opening in 2017 and we can see why. Freshly-baked bread, Stumptown Coffee, and Benton’s Bacon are among the popular items that have people coming back for more. If you get there at a good time, you can grab a fresh cinnamon roll that’s big enough to share or one of the many other pastries they provide in-house. They recently expanded into the next space on Logan Lane which is called the Bar Room. It’s been a great addition near 30A rentals that visitors can’t get enough of. Another Black Bear location will open in Grand Boulevard later this year for a special treat to all those in the Sandestin area.

We love all the options we have along the Gulf Coast and always welcome delicious additions. Great dining is one of the top reasons to visit. Of course, the beach is the main reason but everyone gets hungry. Next time you’re in town, check out one of our favorite cafes!
