Silver Sands Celebrates an "Event-Full" October

The autumn season marks the beginning of a special time of year for our area with cooler, sunny days and an abundance of community and cultural events. With a crisp feel in the air, residents and visitors take to the outdoors and discover fun ways to shop, dine and entertain themselves. The nation’s largest designer outlet center, Silver Sands Factory Stores, is joining in on the fun with a month long celebration complete with breathtaking Autumn Tides artwork, Breast Cancer Awareness Month promotions and other community events.

“October has evolved into an eventful month for our Center, with the increasing popularity of our annual Autumn Tides prints, community events and promotions,” said Traci Stokes, Marketing Director for Silver Sands.

The Center is kicking off fall with the continuation of a nine-year tradition with Beaches of South Walton’s 2008 artist of the year – Donna Burgess. October is Autumn Tides month at Silver Sands, a signature event designated by Beaches of South Walton that offers shoppers a complimentary, limited edition 2010 Autumn Tides print with every $300 in same-day receipts. In this year’s artwork, “Autumn Inspirations”, Burgess offers a personal and colorful perspective into her creative process while simultaneously capturing the essence of the fall season. This piece completes the current “Autumn Through the Artist’s Eyes” artwork series. Silver Sands is also hosting an Autumn Tides artist signing reception on Saturday, October 9 and October 23. Shoppers may bring their Autumn Tides prints to Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th between 1-4 p.m. to have them personally signed by Burgess and enjoy refreshments.

Silver Sands is also continuing the tradition of offering unparalleled designer deals with a new fall promotion, offering shoppers 20 percent off a single item at select stores and a free Platinum Rewards coupon book from October 3 through October 24. Coupons will appear in select newspapers on Sunday, October 3 or customers may download a printable version of the coupon at the Center’s Web site, silversandsoutlet.com. Save at retailers like Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Nine West, Tommy Hilfiger and many more.

The month of October is rich in philanthropic events and promotions as well. To start off the month, Nike Factory Store will host its first annual LIVESTRONG 5K beach run at Destiny Worship Center (1222 Poinciana Blvd.) on Saturday, October 2. Early registration is $25 and race day is $30.
