Summer Cocktails Along the Emerald Coast

Summer Cocktails

Take a minute, sit back, close your eyes and imagine yourself enjoying the perfect summer vacation. You see yourself lying on the beach with your toes in powder white sand listening to the sounds of the water. What’s that in your hand? A fancy cocktail with a tiny umbrella leaning against the rim of the glass. Yes, a relaxing beach vacation and summer cocktails go hand in hand. Here’s a list of our favorite summer cocktails and where to order them along the Emerald Coast.

Leblon Strawberry Caipirinha is a Brazilian cocktail using Leblon Cachaça rum, strawberry puree’ and freshly squeezed limes. The bartenders at Bud & Alley’s in the 30a beach town of Seaside mix this refreshing drink up just right. Enjoy this fancy cocktail and an amazing sunset at Bud & Alley’s roof top bar.

You’ll find one of our favorite cocktail concoctions at Pompano Joe’s. This seafood restaurant sits right on the powder white sand of Miramar Beach. PJ’s Punch is refreshing and delicious! A mixture of light rum, dark rum, orange juice, pineapple and grenadine. You can order it at the inside bar or the outdoor beach bar. Its perfect for sipping in the sun and after a game of beach volley ball!

If you like a cocktail hour with a little sophistication, then you’ll want to stop in at Cuvee Kitchen in Destin. The bartenders at Cuvee are true mixologists, creating unique and flavorful concoctions throughout the evening. One of my favorites is the Cuvee Martini with western son citrus vodka, cranberry bitters, limoncello, lychee, lemon and soda.

Margaritas and summer go hand in hand. Where better to have a Margarita then on the Destin Harbor at Margaritaville! Listen to Jimmy Buffett classics while wasting away sipping on a “Who’s to Blame”. The restaurants traditional Margarita with a twist, including Margaritaville Gold Tequila and triple sec served frozen or on the rocks.

Sunsets and Martinis are a perfect way to end a day at the beach. Our favorite place for Martinis is The Jellyfish in Perdido Key. With 25 varieties of Martinis on the menu you are sure to find the flavor for you. What’s my favorite? Shake-up Vodka, Melon Liqueur, Watermelon Liqueur, splash of sour mix and pineapple juice and you have the Perdido-Tini exclusively at The Jellyfish.

Which ever beautiful white sand beach town you find yourself staying at this summer, make sure you try one of our favorite summer cocktails. A toast to summer along the Emerald Coast. Cheers from Destinfun.com!
