Tapping into the Gulf Coast Brewery Scene

Breweries are popping up all over the U.S. and there is no shortage along the Gulf Coast. This is to no surprise. After all, what goes together better than beer and the beach! Join us on a Tap Room tour of local breweries throughout the Gulf Coast.

First stop is the beach towns of South Walton and 30A! This unique laid-back beach community is proud to be the home of two great breweries. Grayton Beach Brewery and Idyll Hounds Brewery are located on the north side of Highway 98. Brewery hopping is a breeze with these two. They are within walking distance and on the same path. Both have fun tap rooms with a board full of beers, some flag ships and some seasonal.

Check out both breweries' websites for special events and food trucks. Stop in and grab a six pack to take back to your 30A rental or Seaside Cottage. There’s nothing like enjoying a cold beer on the white sand beaches of 30A!

Next stop is Destin! The beautiful beach town of Destin, Florida draws quite a crowd to highway 98. Off the beaten path you’ll find Destin Brewery. You can taste the beers at over 65 restaurants in the area but why go out when you can try them all at the Brewery, plus seasonal and pilot batches that are reserved for the tap room.

Stop by for a pint or take a growler to go and enjoy at your Destin Beach Condo.  This place is quaint, fun and full of locals! Destin Brewery, where everybody knows your name and the brewer knows his beer!

Continuing on our tap room tour we cross the Destin bridge to Props in Fort Walton Beach. Props not only brews their own beer but has a full menu including: salads, sandwiches, burgers and entrees. The fish tacos pair well with their Blonde Bomber Ale.

On our way to Pensacola we stop off at Navarre’s first Craft Beer Brewery: Ye Olde Brothers Brewery. Serving seasonal brews with southern hospitality, Ye Olde Brothers Brewery is a great place to sit on the porch, enjoy a beer and some friendly conversation. Order a slice of pizza from the brick-oven and your day has just gotten better!

Our last two stops surround the beautiful town of Perdido Key: Pensacola Bay Brewery and Big Beach Brewing. Pensacola Bay Brewery’s beers can be found in various establishments throughout the Gulf Coast. Stop by the tap room and have a taste or take a tour of the brewery!

Our final stop is Big Beach Brewing. They offer some big flavored beers in a laid back atmosphere. Check out their calendar events including happy hours and live music.

What’s better than a cold beer at the beach? A cold beer made by your favorite beach’s local brewery. Cheers!
