The Craft Bar

The Craft Bar in Destin is my “go to” spot for the best cocktails in town. This gastropub specializes in craft cocktails, craft beer, and southern pub food. There are several locations between Fort Walton Beach and Panama City Beach. However, I favor the Craft Bar in Destin for its convenient location and spectacular service. Here’s what you can expect!

The atmosphere is laid-back yet contemporary. You have the option of dining indoors at high top tables as well as at a nice size L-shaped bar. This is where bartenders are caught shaking up some delicious concoction that I can’t wait to try. These bartenders are obviously professionally trained, creating unique cocktails always with a smile.

The outdoor section is super comfortable. Chairs and tables sit under a huge awning with open windows allowing plenty of airflow. Big TV’s inside and out so you can catch your favorite games as well as a big couch for hanging out with a drink. The outside is also dog friendly so you can bring your pooch and enjoy a drink while they enjoy a treat always provided by the staff. Yes, the staff, especially Manager Todd Schrag, will dote on your dogs while taking the best care of you.

Now it’s cocktail time! Two of my favorites are Resting Beach Face (Brugal 1888 grand reserve rum, muddled blackberries, muddled pineapple, coconut puree, house citrus, house simple) and Tequila Mockingbird (Tequila Noble Reposado, house simple, house citrus, limoncello, angostura bitters). Classic cocktails are also on the menu along with an impressive craft beer selection. Order some of the best local craft beers as well as some of the rarest most sought-after beers in the nation.

Now to compliment my cocktail. Craft Bar serves traditional pub food with a twist. Half pound burgers made with local grass-fed beef are served with hand cut fries and homemade sauces for dipping. Ahi Tuna, Grouper, and catch of the day are fresh from the gulf. Pair that with some Southern Sides such as: Black Eyed Pea Succotash and Braised Seasonal Greens for a delicious meal.

A trip to this locally owned establishment is a must! Whether your meeting friends for drinks or enjoying a meal you won’t be disappointed.
