The best apartment for a family

Overall Comment
We sstayed in this apartment for 6 nights in May 2026 - three adults and three children. We were delighted with the apartment itself and the service provided and would definitely come back if we go to Destin again. The apartment had everything we needed. The place was very clean and quiet. It was very close to the beach and tennis courts. The manager was very polite, helpful and professional.

St Lucia at Silver Shells Resort

Overall Comment
Beds in both king rooms were extremely high and a bit dangerous for elderly guests. There was only one step stool in the unit so it was frustrating to get into and out of beds. Rooms need luggage racks as some guests prefer not to unpack.
The master bedroom was very hot even with use of the fan and shades. AC didn’t seem to work well in this room.
Unit is very nicely furnished and stocked. Kitchen had everything we needed. There were games, enough hangers, and it was great to have a beach wagon, chairs and towels, plus linens provided. The TVs were terrific, easy to use and a channel guide was provided.
While the pool was beautiful, it was frustrating that they regulated use of the umbrellas for shade and on the hottest day we were there they wouldn’t allow the umbrellas as they said it was too windy. Since there is absolutely no shade at the pool it was impossible to use the pool area. Beach chairs and umbrellas are regulated - no personal umbrellas and the fee to rent was exorbitant. Also no bathrooms near the beach or beach bar so it was a very long hike back to the pool restrooms. The Sand Bar was terrific. Great music and staff, plus good food.
Location of resort was super. Near everything. In spite of the negatives there were way more positives and we would stay there again.

All in all it sounds as though you all really enjoyed your stay and the surrounding amenities of the resort. The air conditioner is working just fine as you must keep the shades closed during the day time in the primary bedroom as this takes most of the sunlight during the day. Great Family Trip - Beautiful Condo

Overall Comment
This is a wonderful place. It has everything you need and is very comfortable. We are a family of 5 (18, 14, 10 boy ages) and this condo was perfect for us. It is a short walk to everything in the resort and convenient to all the grocery stores and eateries. The resort had something for everyone including pickle ball, huge lagoon pool, weight room, cardio room, and of course the amazing gulf water and white sand beach. We would definitely recommend and rent this condo again.
